Exploring Cultural and Linguistic Equivalents
Take Your Interpreting to the Next Level
Saturday, April 8, 2017
8:00am-1:00pm and 2:00–7:00pm
Workshop 1: Swearing and sexual ASL and English vocabulary will be taught, discussed, and demonstrated along with equivalents for commonly used phrases, words, or terms. Some of the content demonstrated (ASL concepts) will be given by the workshop participants; thus, enabling participants to draw from the knowledge and experience of everyone in the workshop.
Workshop 2: Workshop is designed to assist anyone from the newbie, ITP students, transliterators, interpreters who want to become more “ASL”, to any interpreter who wants to interpret in a manner more as a Deaf person would convey information. Learn how to take a closer look at the work you do, and then how to improve from the level you are currently.
0.5 CEU will be earned for each workshop. 1.0 CEUs earned for the entire day!
