LTC provides excellent phone interpreting 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, with a connection rate of fewer than 20 seconds. Phone interpreting is perfect for emergency situations in which an interpreter cannot come to the location within a specified time frame. Phone interpreting can also be used when a rare language or dialect is needed and an onsite interpreter is not available. As with onsite interpreters, LTC’s phone interpreters are assessed, trained, and fully qualified through LTC’s screening process. LTC phone interpreters adhere to the same standards as do LTC onsite interpreters.
For a simple, one-on-one phone interpretation session, all you need to do is set up an account with LTC. There is no cost to set up an account. All we need is a list of departments which may require interpreting, and then we assign corresponding pin numbers for each.
Connecting with an Interpreter
To connect to an interpreter via the phone, you will dial the toll free number assigned. You will then enter your account number and PIN number (if needed for department specific billing). You will then state the language you need OR enter the 3 digit language code and hold temporarily while we connect you to an interpreter. It’s that easy!
When the interpreter comes on the line, you will give the interpreter a brief explanation of the call and the phone interpretation appointment will continue from there.
For a simple one-on-one phone interpretation session, we charge a per minute rate. Additional rates apply to add a third party. As with other forms of interpretation, invoices are sent on a monthly basis. We require no monthly minimum usage or retainer, which means you pay only for the time you use!
