LPGA DEVELOPMENTAL TOUR TO FOCUS ON MORE THAN GOLF

DURAMED FUTURES TOUR TEAMS UP WITH LANGUAGE TRAINING CENTER TO HOST CROSS CULTURAL SEMINAR

In partnership with the LPGA, Language Training Center (LTC), based in Indianapolis, Indiana will host their second cross-cultural seminar with the Duramed FUTURES Tours players and staff on July 27, 2010. The LPGA’s Cross-Cultural Development Program, under which LTC activates, was developed with an eye toward offering language-based and cross cultural communication assistance to assist LPGA professionals as they travel the globe to compete in front of their fans, media and sponsors.

Two days before the Alliance Bank Golf Classic in Syracuse, New York, LTC will meet with the LPGA rookies near the tournaments host course, Drumlins Country Club, to define, teach, and practice cross cultural differences and similarities. The Duramed FUTURES Cross Cultural Training will assist the girls in making a good impression on fans, sponsors, and the media by identifying who each rookie is, what the casual observer sees, and how core values impact their behavior on and off the course. In doing so, LTC will focus on five cross cultural focal points, which include:

  • Key cultural values
  • Global leader influencers
  • Five points of a celebrity
  • Strategies for being attractively polite in the LPGA
  • International body language

These focal points will allow LTC to coach the rookies through thinking about what impression they are leaving with observers and other players. LTC will also challenge the ladies to consider how differing outlooks affect them on the course.

As the LPGA and Duramed FUTURES players continue to diversify the playing field, LTC’s cross cultural seminars are a great way to for the ladies to come together and learn what behaviors are internationally accepted and those that are not. This not only helps the players communicate better with each other, but also with their fans, the media, and their sponsors, both present and future.
