Bringing American Sign Language to the Snake Pit at the Indy 500
The Snake Pit at the Indianapolis 500 is one of the Midwest’s most iconic Memorial Day Weekend events—an all-day EDM festival set inside the world’s biggest single-day sporting event. While thousands of race fans arrive to witness the historic Indy 500, music lovers start their day early, packing the infield for a high-energy show that kicks off at 8 AM.
For the 2025 event, featuring headliner Illenium, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Operations team partnered with LTC Language Solutions to provide American Sign Language (ASL) interpreting throughout the concert. This partnership enabled Deaf and hard-of-hearing attendees to fully experience every beat, lyric, and drop.
Accessibility was a top priority. LTC interpreters were placed in highly visible locations and brought the expertise and energy required to match the pace of live EDM performances. Their presence helped create a more inclusive environment for all Snake Pit attendees.
By integrating ASL services into such a large-scale music and sporting event, Snake Pit 2025 took a meaningful step toward greater accessibility—and set an example for how live events can ensure every fan feels welcome and included.
