Phone Interpretation

Phone interpreting is perfect for situations where an interpreter cannot be at the location within a specified time frame. It can also be used when a rare language or dialect is needed and an onsite interpreter is not available. As with onsite interpreters, our phone interpreters are assessed, trained, and fully qualified through LTC’s screening process. LTC phone interpreters adhere to the same standards as LTC onsite interpreters.

1. A Simple Setup

For a one-on-one phone interpretation session, all you need to do is set up an account with LTC. There is no cost to set up an account. Your account representative will work with you to complete a new account activation form to create your customized account.

2. An Easy Connection

To connect to an interpreter by phone, just dial the designated number assigned to your account. Then select the language you need (or enter the language code) and we will connect you to an interpreter. It’s that easy!

3. Immediate Service

When the interpreter comes on the line, you will give the interpreter a brief explanation of the call and the phone interpretation appointment will continue from there.

Video Interpretation

Video Remote Interpretation (VRI) is the video chat equivalent of phone interpretation. VRI is an on- demand, cost-effective alternative to in person interpretation, especially for ASL. LTC’s video service is available through any computer with internet access and a webcam, making it convenient for you to use with your existing system.

How it works.

There is no cost to set up an account. Your account representative will work with you to complete a new account activation form to create your customized account. We are able to activate your VRI interpretation account within two business days of receiving this information.

What’s required?

LTC’s cloud-hosted solution minimizes equipment costs for you. To utilize VRI interpretation, all you need are the following:

Computer or any smartphone or tablet that has an Android, Apple or Windows app store.
Webcam (internal or external)
Microphone (internal or external)
Internet

Connecting is easy.

To connect with an interpreter, open a browser or the app provided. You will be prompted to sign in and select your language. Then begin your session!
