ROSE Awards

The ROSE Awards (Recognition of Service Excellence) is Visit Indy’s annual Gala honoring frontline hospitality workers and volunteers in Indianapolis. The 34th annual event, held on May 1, 2025, at the Indiana Roof Ballroom, celebrates employees who deliver exceptional customer service and embody the spirit of “Hoosier Hospitality.”

Our ASL Interpreting Initiative

To help make the event more accessible, Visit Indy partnered with LTC Language Solutions to provide American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation throughout the evening. Our professional interpreters were placed on-stage and positioned for visibility during key moments of the ceremony, ensuring that Deaf and hard-of-hearing attendees could fully engage in the experience.

Why It Mattered

  • Recognizing All Voices: The ROSE Awards highlight the often-unsung heroes of the hospitality industry—from hotel staff and restaurant servers to transportation workers. By including ASL interpretation, the event honored every attendee, regardless of hearing ability, and allowed all guests to participate in these powerful recognition moments.
  • Hospitality Begins with Accessibility: ASL interpreting aligned naturally with the values of the hospitality industry. It demonstrated Visit Indy’s commitment to creating inclusive spaces and reinforced Indianapolis’s identity as a welcoming and accessible destination for all.
  • Community Impact: Featuring ASL interpretation in a highly visible setting brought greater awareness to the importance of accessibility in public ceremonies. It also demonstrated LTC’s capability to deliver interpreting services in both live and broadcast environments—seamlessly, professionally, and with cultural sensitivity.
