As Indianapolis became more diverse, LTC helped bridge the gap.
Linguistically, all the hospitals and health care facilities worked feverishly to find solutions to meet the needs of the new communities. LTC came alongside the hospitals and health care facilities to provide face to face and phone interpreting as the number of new languages grew to over 50 in Indiana.
LTC recruited from the new immigrant and refugee communities to see who a good candidate would be to become an interpreter. We provided assessments, training and onboarding in over 50 languages and provided interpreters for over 4,000 face to face interpreters. The ramp up and constant onboarding allowed LTC to shine and support the health care community.
In addition to what was happening linguistically LTC also expanded to offer ASL for the Deaf community. It has been a great run over the past 25 years to support all of the needs.
Currently phone, video and virtual interpreting services have become very popular and all to ensure non native English speakers have all of the information they need in their native language
