Multi-level Marketing Conferences

Interpreting for direct selling conferences.

The Direct Selling industry goes by a few other names that are not necessarily interchangeable: Mult-level Marketing, Network Marketing, B2C, Party Plan. Companies range from healthy lifestyle products and services, jewelry, fragrances, cosmetics, home goods, financial services, the list goes on. Many of these companies build their brand and sales force internationally. Those that are contain their efforts to the US will still find that their products and messaging perform optimally when respecting the multilingual clientele and sales force here in the US. – that includes the Deaf who require American Sign Language interpretation.

Our clients in the direct selling industry tend to have one or two conferences per year. One is typically an annual conference that gathers all their sales representatives for a combination of sales training, appreciation, support, and motivation. Attendance can reach 15,000 at some of the larger conferences. They take place in different cities across the US or foreign countries. Events are mainly conducted in English, especially the ones on US soil or in other English-speaking countries, but attendees do not always have English as their first language.

For in-person and hybrid events, interpretation booths are still required onsite to provide separation for interpreters to perform their duties which require concentration and freedom from distractions. Interpretation audio equipment is also needed for interpreters in the booths to receive the English floor audio feeds and in turn transmit the target language interpretation to listeners. Clients do not typically maintain the equipment inventory necessary to support all the languages and listeners in each event location. Most clients do not maintain any of their own equipment, and they require an equipment technician to set up and monitor the transmissions though single or multi-day conferences.

LTC understands that so much time and energy go into the English language messaging. Our clients rely on our expertise to interpret and translate that messaging with the rigor and consistency required to represent the original English. Our best compliment is that our clients give us is that they did not have to worry about their messaging getting across in American Sign Language or spoken languages. LTC sources interpreter talent locally when available and provides all the equipment needed based on the venue specifications.

LTC clients can market their products and services to a wider world of linguistic groups, increasing market share at home and abroad, while promoting a vision of inclusivity and accessibility. LTC clients can focus on their messaging in their native language, and trust that it will be interpreted appropriately and professionally.
