Background
The Indiana Historical Society is an Indianapolis-based nonprofit that preserves and shares Indiana’s history through exhibits, archives, concerts, lectures, and other public programs.
The organization needed ongoing ASL interpreting services to support communication during quarterly workplace meetings.
Challenge
These meetings included important conversations about performance, feedback, goals, and professional development. Everyone involved needed to be able to communicate directly, ask questions, and take part in the discussion.
Since the meetings took place every quarter, the Indiana Historical Society needed reliable, recurring support rather than interpreting for a single meeting.
Solution
LTC Language Solutions provided professional, on-site ASL interpreting at the Indiana Historical Society’s Indianapolis location. We worked to provide interpreters who were well suited for the assignment and prepared to support the communication needs of those involved. This helped create a comfortable and effective environment for each conversation.
LTC also coordinated the recurring service so the organization could include interpreting as a regular part of its quarterly meeting process.
Results
With ASL interpreting available, participants could communicate directly, exchange feedback, ask questions, and take part in workplace conversations in real time.
The recurring service also gave the Indiana Historical Society a dependable process for providing communication access during quarterly meetings. Consistent support helped the organization make accessibility part of its regular workplace practices.
