Beatriz Recari on LTC

LPGA player Beatriz Recari speaks on her experience with LTC.

(Music) It just had that something that kind of grabbed me and I just said you know what um I like this I really wanna be good at this. Nobody in my family plays golf. Nobody. One day I was bored and I just grab one of the union clubs and started whacking the ball and my, my like the head pro out there on the golf course and he was just telling my dad hey why don’t you sign her up for some junior lessons. I was nine and I told my dad I said look I really want to do this seriously um you know I understand the commitment and he said, like, well you know that’s fine but if you do this you’re gonna do it when its nice weather and when it’s not nice weather so say on Sunday it’s raining and it’s still really cold we’re still going to the golf course and we’re gonna practice and I said that’s a deal …. I travel so much I’m gonna play this year, gonna play 31 events in 31 different places but last year was 13 international events. I always liked studying languages, I think I’m pretty good at it. I speak Spanish, I speak English, I learned French at school, I speak a little bit of Norwegian and I just started to study Japanese. I fell in love with the culture after I traveled and I played this tournament. I always play in Japan. I think it’s a mistake to travel to another country and you don’t make the effort to learn the language. You know, for example women’s golf in Japan is huge. Thanks to Language Training Center I started to study Japanese. They found me a teacher here in Orlando and she comes to my house and she teaches me Japanese. We focus on any regular style like you follow the book, but at the same time a lot of like, golf terms and golf vocabulary. It’s huge time savings for me. Its funny cause when you first talk to Japanese players the first thing they ask me is what’s your name, how old are you, cause they have to know how far they have to bow. Ah well I’m young haha so they don’t have to bow that low for me yet because I’m 25. When I get older then yes they’re gonna have to bow lower. I know this because of LTC, I know this since I started learning.
