The Benefit of Cross Cultural Training

One of the many exciting things about working at LTC is getting the opportunity to provide cross cultural trainings. These blocks of trainings cover cultural intelligence or CQ, provide an overview of understanding of human interaction and behavior, and are tailored to each organization’s needs. Some trainings are as short as two hours and others can run over several days.

We’ve had the privilege of providing trainings for groups such as specialized military units, relocated employees, service members, and corporate environments. This customized approach has allowed me to see trainings that benefit someone arriving to a new country, to sailors going on shore leave and experiencing a new environment. The trainings also take place all over the world – from a classroom in Germany, to an employee’s office in Bismark, ND. The most exciting, perhaps, could be the ship-based trainings we’ve conducted for the military.

It’s interesting to observe students as they are in training because an instructor can see the development that takes place over the course of time. Someone who had very little knowledge of an area or element of human behavior now has a much better understanding and is ready for their next step of the journey. I look forward to future opportunities to work with cross cultural trainings and hope I’ll see you in one of them soon!
