Global Mobility Services
LTC believes that understanding other cultures and languages is a
vital skill that enables corporations and individuals to take part in the
worldwide community. We also understand the pain and financial
costs associated with failed global mobility assignments. Our team
works with your global mobility employee and family to prepare
them both linguistically and culturally for their new lives abroad.
What happens when you send ltc the authorization for your relocating employee?
As soon as we receive the authorization, our language training program managers reach out to the students immediately to let them know about their benefits and to schedule an intake meeting with them. Reaching out as soon as possible ensures that the students know they have our support throughout their relocation and that we are here to assist whenever they need us.
What does an ltc intake meeting look like?
In the intake meeting, we talk to your relocating employee about their background and experiences, ask them about their goals for the target language, assess their abilities, and gather their preferences regarding class schedules and locations. The language goals of a student will differ depending on whether they are the relocating employee, their spouse, or their children. As such, we talk to each family member to make sure we are building a program that is completely customized to the individual. (need to add: Every lesson is a language experience waiting to happen. LTC students and instructors go on language focused adventures in their classes based on whatever the student wants to do. Student likes sewing? They go to the fabric store together, go to a sewing class together, etc.)
We even talk to the students about their interests and hobbies to paint a well-rounded picture of them as a person to match them with an instructor, kind of like a match making service. The reason we do this before the classes start is so that we are not wasting valuable training hours to assess them or complete a needs analysis. The other crucial part of gathering this information is that the instructor is not simply a person that meets your employee’s schedule, but someone that is handpicked to work with them. After an LTC intake meeting, they are ready to start day one with a completely customized lesson and the perfect instructor.
when we say “matchmaking”, what does that mean for your relocating employee?
While all of our instructors are extremely qualified, that doesn’t mean every instructor is the perfect match for every student. Our instructors have a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences, and we use that to select them for a specific student. We believe that matching the student with the best instructor based on who they are as a learner and a person guarantees the effectiveness of the program. If the student is engaged and excited about learning, and the instructor is engaged and excited about educating, they can connect in a way that is meaningful. If everyone is happy working together, then your relocating employee will be invested in their classes, and more likely to complete their training.

how does the LTC difference impact your relocating employee’s life during and after the training
Throughout your relocating employees’ training, they receive check-ins and feedback from one of our program managers to ensure that everything is to their satisfaction. LTC’s programs are designed to give students consistent ongoing feedback from their instructor who is always assessing them and adjusting the program to help students make improvements and achieve their goals.
Even the end of their training program is not the end. We want students to become lifelong learners and feel like they can reach out to us for support even after their training hours are formally completed.
